About me ...

This is my story and I’m sticking to it...

So here’s the statistical stuff first: I have four children. Arika, Jeanette, Robert, and Randi, and a stepdaughter, Jennifer, who I consider my child also. I have four grandchildren now (They are the reason that I live and breathe today!) Jaramé is six, Emma is five, Jordyn is four months old, and Mathias is three weeks old. Barbara is due to be born sometime in March. I have an associate’s degree in microcomputer systems management, which really means I need to go back to school! I attended SUNY Brockport for LPN training. But all I’ve ever really wanted to do is write, and that’s what I do now.

I tend to have a vivid, sometimes twisted, imagination. When I get an idea in my head, it seems that I become obsessed. Other times, like now, there is nothing in my head at all. I am currently working on the tenth story of Return To Misty Forest. Poor Phineus the Peacock is still sitting on the side of the road. His feet are sore, his tail feathers (correctly called a train) are drooping, and he is soooo lost! He has been sitting there for about two months now. I’d better do something about that!

I tend to be a loner. I have one friend. But do you really need more than one if just the one is a good friend? I don’t think so. I am a member of SCBWI.

Right now I am working on rewriting an adult mystery called The Murder Game, a really fun story that I wrote with a friend. I’m also working on MallWalker – about a ghost in a mall. I have so many more ideas for stories ... my house was built in 1805, and in the direct path of the underground railroad.  Research time!

I love to garden, though I have terrible allergies. The loves of my life are my grandchildren. Quite honestly, I swiped a lot of the ideas for Misty Forest from Jaramé.

What else can I tell you about me? I try to be a honest and helpful person. That is probably why I have an ulcer. When people tell me that I cannot do something, that makes me more determined that I can.

The most gratifying thing that I have found after writing a book, actually getting published, and then having it in my hand—being able to read it to children! What a gift – for me!
